Reza Ghasemi made history by winning Iran’s first ever medal in the 100m race at the Asian Athletics Championship.

The 27-year-old Iranian sprinter claimed a bronze medal with a time of 10.19 seconds.
Qatar’s Femi Ogunode did what he had been promising for some time by lowering his own Asian 100m record to a stunning 9.91s. That should make him the fifth fastest man in the world this year.

The Nigeria-born Ogunode had set the previous mark of 9.93 while winning the Asian Games gold in Incheon last year.

China's Zhang Peimeng came second with a time of 10.15 seconds.
The 21st Asian Athletics Championships has brought more than 800 athletes from 45 Asian countries together in Wuhan, China.
